Northern Rivers Animal Services (NRAS), in partnership with Jennifer McKinnon Photography, is thrilled to launch the 2027 NRAS Calendar Competition! This exciting annual fundraiser gives pet lovers the chance to see their beloved cat or dog featured in the official 2027 NRAS calendar while helping raise vital funds for animals in need.
Every dollar raised through calendar sales, entry fees, and voting goes directly towards NRAS’s mission to rescue, care for, and rehome abandoned, abused, lost, and unwanted dogs and cats, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home.
How It Works
Getting involved is easy:
- Enter the contest here
- Submit your favourite photo of your cat or dog.
- Share your entry with family, friends, and colleagues.
- Encourage them to vote for your pet.
The more votes your pet receives, the better their chance of securing a coveted place in the 2027 calendar.
Could Your Pet Be a Calendar Star?
The 13 entrants with the highest number of votes at the close of the competition will win a professional photo session with Jennifer McKinnon Photography and be featured in the 2027 NRAS Calendar.
- 1st Place: Featured on the calendar cover.
- 2nd – 13th Place: Featured as a Pet of the Month.
Each winner will receive:
- A professional photography session for their pet.
- Their pet featured in the 2027 NRAS Calendar.
- A competition-branded digital image from their calendar photoshoot to share with family and friends.
Please note: All photography sessions will take place in Ballina and surrounding areas. Entrants should review the full competition rules before entering.
Weekly Mini Competitions
There are plenty of opportunities to win throughout the competition! Each week, the dog or cat that receives the highest number of new votes will win a special mini-competition prize generously donated by participating local businesses.
Not Entering? You Can Still Make a Difference
You don’t need to enter a pet to support NRAS. Vote for your favourite cat or dog on the competition leaderboard for as little as $1 per vote. Every vote helps raise funds for the animals in NRAS care.
You can also help by sharing the competition with family, friends, and workmates. The more people who participate, the greater the impact we can make together.
Reserve a Special Spot in the Calendar
Looking for another way to celebrate your furry companion? Reserve a dedicated photo space in the calendar to:
- Honour a beloved pet
- Mark a birthday or special milestone.
For just $10, you can secure a photo space within a calendar month grid using your favourite pet photo.
Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait too long to reserve yours.
